It all started with a group of guys living on Veto street.
A history of Veto Athletic so concise that SparkNotes would be jealous:
Veto Athletic was founded in 2021 by 3 of those housemates in Grand Rapids, MI who were playing semi-pro soccer together that summer. The Keepy-Up, our premiere product to keep shin guards from drifting while playing soccer, was devised by Isaac after years of struggle with his own shin guards. Drawn by the innovation of the Keepy-Up, Derek and Conner joined up with Issac and Veto Athletic was born.
Our goal is to have more of an impact than selling any product. We seek to empower people to keep playing. If reading this gave you questions, comments, or resonated with you and you want to join in, get in touch with us!
Isaac grew up in West Michigan playing any type of sport. He was able to play soccer at Hope College and loved every minute of it. During his time in College he studied Accounting & Business. Isaac enjoys fishing, golfing, and playing pickup soccer in his free time.
The slogan Keep Playing. resonates with me because I want people to find the same joy and excitement I get from playing sports. Regardless of age I believe that people should be involved in something that gets their heart pumping. The products we have created let us directly affect the Athletes experience in a positive way.
Another West Michigan native, Derek played soccer at Cedarville University while studying finance. He enjoys golfing with friends, playing pickleball, soccer, fishing, and exploring the outdoors.
The phrase, "Keep Playing" is very important to me because I believe everyone should have the opportunity to do what they love! This will look different for everyone but I like that our products can encourage/help people to do what they love.
Growing up in Texas before moving to Seattle, Conner played soccer up & down the West Coast before continuing his soccer career at Cedarville University while studying Electrical Engineering. Conner enjoys any outdoor activity that gives him an reason to spend time with friends.
I love our slogan of Keep Playing because I want to empower people to do things they enjoy & are passionate about. There are so many difficulties & stresses in this life, I want to be a force for people to find community & enjoyment.
